WEST BRANCH TWP. — Area residents looking to recycle old electronics can do so at a recycling event at the West Branch Township Hall Aug. 27.

West Branch Township Supervisor Jay Spaulding said the township board approved the event during its June 22 meeting.

No times have been set for the event at this time, but Spaulding said he expects it to be held over about a four-hour time period.

There will be no charge to those looking to recycle items, and Vintage Tech Recyclers will not charge the township for the collection.

“In fact, they (Vintage Tech) are providing the majority of the labor,” Spaulding said. “They will be here with a truck to accept items. Then they’ll pack up and be gone.”

Spaulding told the Herald in May that the collection would be open to everyone, even out-of-county residents.

Some items that will be accepted include computer monitors, laptops, TVs, printers, computers, DVD players, stereos, video game systems, PDAs, cell phones, MP3 players, mice and other peripherals.

Items that will not be accepted include typewriters, terminals, toaster ovens, hair dryers, curling irons, resistor coils, cash registers, UPS batteries, copiers or electric tools.
