Vintage Tech and Shelby Township Recycle over 500,000 pounds!

Vintage Tech is proud to announce that our partnership with Shelby Township, MI has already yielded over 500,000 pounds of recycled electronics! This was only the first year of their electronics and computer recycling program, led by the township’s Solid Waste and Recycling Committee Chairperson Marietta Crabtree.

Our collections have been held on the last Saturday of each month. This service, like all of our collections at Vintage tech, is free service thanks to a Michigan state law stating that electronics companies must support a way for their own products to be recycled at no cost to the consumer. This is the government’s way of helping the environment by making sure that all of the hazardous materials from old electronics and obsolete gadgets are kept out of landfills.

The recycling program will continue to run on its normal schedule of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month at the Shelby Township Municipal Grounds located at 52700 Van Dyke Ave. in Michigan. We will be accepting a wide variety of electronics, especially computers, laptops, DVD players, and printers. This week’s Jan. 28 collection will even include any leftover holiday lights.
