ALBANY (Scrap Monster): Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI) has announced the entry of Recycle Across America (RAA) into the coalition of R2 Recycling Leader initiative, which promotes responsible reuse and recycling of used electronics. As part of the association, RAA will develop education materials on repair and recycling of electronics. The company’s experience will be utilized towards boosting the outreach of the program to the benefit of more communities.

RAA joins as the eleventh member of the coalition, the other ten members being DIRECTV, Goodwill Industries International, Greeneye Partners, Keep America Beautiful, Microsoft, Panasonic, Sony America, SourceAmerica, Wistron Corporation and Xerox.

RAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which has developed the first and only society-wide standardized labeling system for recycling bins to help eliminate the public confusion surrounding recycling.

By becoming a partner of the initiative, RAA has made a commitment to support sustainable electronics recycling, as well as consider R2 certification when choosing a recycling partner. R2 Leaders also take a leadership role in a project to advance responsible reuse and/or recycling around the world, such as funding pilot projects for responsible recycling in developing countries, or creating new programs for electronics collection, refurbishment or recycling.
