Out with the Old, In with the New Electronic' at Habitat ReStore

The Habitat ReStore, 208 Cottage Grove Road, recycles electronics. Items accepted include: computers, laptops, monitors, LCD’s, cell phones, printers, scanners, modems, CD drives, cables, keyboards, mice, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, camcorders, cameras, game players and joysticks; telephones, pagers, answering machines, typewriters, calculators, adding machines, fax machines, copiers, postage meters and microwaves.

 

“Clean out and recycle those electronics you will no longer be using,” said Jen Voichick, director of the Habitat ReStore. “Make recycling your electronics an easy New Year’s resolution.”

 

All items are free to drop-off, except for televisions, computer monitors in which there is a $5 donation request per item($10 for microwaves). Also, all personal data is guaranteed to be safely and securely destroyed by Vintage Tech Recyclers. In June, the Habitat ReStore began working with Vintage Tech Recyclers and together they have recycled truckloads of electronics.

 

Items can be dropped off near the front of the Habitat ReStore with donations for televisions, computer monitors and microwaves to be made with the cashier.

 

The Habitat ReStore hours are: Tuesday thru Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday open until 6 p.m
