Officials in Plainfield, Ill.,

Officials in Plainfield, Ill., have approved a tax break to entice Vintage Tech Recyclers to move its headquarters to the city, the Plainfield Patch reported.

Currently headquartered in Romeoville, Ill., the company is also considering building a facility La Porte, Ind., the newspaper reported.

The company currently has a facility in Plainfield , but is considering opening a 160,000-square-foot facility with Finnish partner Kuusakoski, the newspaper reported.

Between the real estate and equipment, the total cost of the facility would be $12.2 million and it would create an additional 84 jobs. Both the local school board and municipality signed off on the tax break — a 50% tax abatement on the project — but state officials still need to approve it, the newspaper reported.

In addition to the new Illinois locations, Vintage Tech has a facility in Riverside, Mo., and is planning to open a facility in Canton, Mich., in January.
