LG Electronic Recycling Event

Free Electronics Recycling Event Brought to You by LG Electronics USA and Dakota County


LAKEVILLE, Minn., April 30, 2013 – Do you have a TV taking up closet space?  Are the junk drawers filled with cell phones and other gadgets?  If so, please join us on Saturday May 4, at the Lakeville Maintenance Facility, 7570 179th Street W. Lakeville, Minn, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.


Dakota County, Vintage Tech Recyclers and LG Electronics USA have joined forces to bring to a free solution for responsible electronics recycling to Dakota County residents.


To assure responsible recycling, the LG Electronics Recycling Program works with e-Stewards-certified recyclers, like Vintage Tech, which is an e-Stewards,  R2, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified electronics recycling company. Vintage Tech provides IT asset management, responsible recycling solutions, and hard drive security in their facilities nationally.


Vintage Tech ensures all to customers that all electronics are properly handled and recycled and all hard drives are protected using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping.


The electronics recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Lakeville Maintenance Facility located at 7570 179th Street W. Lakeville, Minn.   Residents are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as Vintage Tech Recyclers personnel assist in unloading material. 


Additionally, Household Hazardous Waste will be collected onsite brought to you by Dakota County Recycling Zone.  Items include Paint, Thermostats, Mercury Containing Devices, Chemicals, Batteries, and other hazardous materials.


According to LG Electronics USA, by recycling old electronic products, useful materials such as glass, plastic and metal can be re-used in the manufacture of other products.  Recycling electronics minimizes the amount of hazardous waste in the landfills and the extraction of new raw materials from the earth.  Equally significant, replacing older TVs and computer monitors with new ENERGY STAR® qualified models helps consumers save energy and money while saving the planet.
