Holiday Light Recycling

It’s that time of year again! Since many of have been enjoying a very warm December so far, we’ve had a great opportunity to decorate our homes in holiday lights. However, when you go to decorate your house, and find and old string of lights that doesn’t seem to work anymore, don’t rush to throw those old lights in the trash.

The Village of Algonquin is offering holiday light recycling again this winter! Until January 16th, you can drop off your old lights at the Village Hall, located at 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, IL. This drop off site will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Accepted items include mini-lights, C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, and extension cords of any length. Please note that all tinsel, garland, and other decoration items should be removed before recycling.
