FREE Electronics Recycling May 3 at Citi Field

Sponsored by  LG Electronics USA, Vintage Tech Recyclers,

Citi Field and Green Sports Alliance

Flushing, NY – April 30, 2014 Citi Field ballpark has partnered with LG Electronics USA, Vintage Tech Recyclers and the Green Sports Alliance to offer local residents a free solution for responsibly recycling outdated, unused and older electronics products, including TVs, monitors, cell phones and more. Please join us from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Citi Field ballpark, 120-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Parking Lot F (enter through Gate 3 off Roosevelt Avenue).

To help assure responsible recycling for consumers, the LG Electronics Recycling Program works with e-Stewards-certified recyclers, like Vintage Tech Recyclers, which is an e-Stewards, R2, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified electronics recycling company. Vintage Tech provides IT asset management, responsible recycling solutions, and hard drive security in their facilities nationally.

Vintage Tech Recyclers ensures to all customers that all electronics are properly handled and recycled and all hard drives are protected using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping.

The electronics recycling event will be held Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Citi Field, 120-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Parking Lot F (enter through Gate 3 off Roosevelt Avenue).   Residents are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as Vintage Tech Recyclers personnel and volunteers will assist in unloading material.

According to LG Electronics USA Vice President John Taylor, by recycling old electronic products, useful materials such as glass, plastic and metal can be re-used in the manufacture of other products. “Recycling electronics minimizes the amount of hazardous waste in the landfills and the extraction of new raw materials from the earth. LG encourages consumers to replace older TVs and computer monitors with new ENERGY STAR certified models helps consumers save energy and money while addressing climate change,” he said.
