Free Electronics Recycling Event April 12

Free electronics recycling event April 12

Lakeside Lutheran High School, Lake Mills, will host a community recycling event on Friday, April 11 from 3:30-6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 12 from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. The event is held in partnership with Vintage Tech Recyclers.

Lakeside Computer Maintenance students, along with staff, will volunteer hours to sort and assemble items before semi-trucks pick them up for recycling in compliance with highest standards and regulations in the industry. Vintage Tech Recyclers reports that all these items contain parts that can be carefully refurbished and reused.

Members of the community are invited to bring virtually any electronic device, working or not, including computers, printers, televisions, stereos, copiers, handheld electronics, phones, cameras and more to the school during these times to have the items recycled free of charge. Household items including blenders and coffee makers (without glass), vacuums (without bags), clocks, curling irons, fans, remotes, metal power tools, holiday lights and more are also acceptable.

Several types of white goods can be accepted as well during this event through a service outside of Vintage Tech Recyclers. Examples of accepted white goods include dishwashers, stoves, washers and dryers and microwaves. Scrap metal will also be accepted.

Examples of items that cannot be accepted include ballasts, Freon-containing items such as air conditioners, dehumidifiers and refrigerators, gas cylinders, light bulbs, household and lithium batteries and VHS cassette tapes. For a more complete list of both acceptable and unacceptable items, see

Bring electronics to the Lakeside Lutheran “bus barn” in the west end parking lot during the stated hours by entering the Woodland Beach Road driveway and following the signs. Lakeside does not have room for early drop-offs.
