Free Electronics Recycling


This is a great opportunity to keep electronics out of landfills and to dispose of electronics in an environmentally safe way through recycling.


Shelby Township residents and other communities can safely dispose of and recycle electronic equipment for FREE on the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Municipal Grounds SOUTH entrance – 52700 Van Dyke, just south of 24 Mile Road). Schools, churches, businesses, libraries and other municipal offices are welcome to participate.

The electronic recycling service is provided free of charge by Vintage Tech Recyclers, Inc., that holds R2 certification ensuring all processes are compliant with required standards.  Manufacturers of electronics equipment pay for this recycling service under the new State of Michigan law regarding electronics disposal and recycling.

The following electronics items will be accepted:

Televisions, Monitors, Computers, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, All-In-One Printers, VCR’s, Keyboards & Mice, DVD & CD Players, Microwaves, Stereos, Speakers, Miscellaneous Cables, Computer Parts, Telephones, Cell Phones, Game Consoles, Handheld Electronic Devices (iPods, Game Boys, etc.), Holiday Lights

The following items will not be accepted:

Typewriters, terminals, large copy machines, electronic tools, cash registers, all small and large household appliances such as toaster ovens, hair dryers, refrigerators, and dish washers.
