Electronics Recycling Up 50% from Last Year

According to the Northwest Herald, electronics recycling is up 50% in Illinois from last year, which is a huge increase. The rise is due in large part to Illinois’ ban on disposing electronics in landfills, which took effect in January 2013.

This is a huge accomplishment for Illinois residents, and we’d like to extend our sincerest congratulations. Electronics possess many materials that are harmful to the environment, but by responsibly recycling electronics, these materials can be appropriately and safely disposed.

Congratulations, Illinois! You’ve reached a huge accomplishment and are setting a great example for others states. Keep up the good work!
