Electronics Recycling Set for April 26

Recycle unwanted electronics from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Redford’s Department of Public Services Building, 12200 Beech Daly.

Sponsored by Wayne County Public Services, Redford Township Public Services and Vintage Tech Recyclers, the program is open to Wayne County residents and small businesses only. Proof of Wayne County residency will be required at check in.

The following items will be accepted at no charge: blenders (without glass), bread makers, cables (all miscellaneous), cable boxes, cameras, carpet sweepers (corded or rechargeable), cash registers, cell phones, clocks, coffee makers, computers, computer parts (all), copiers, DVD players, electric knives, fans, fax machines, food sealing equipment, fryers, hair cutters/hair dryers, handheld electronic devices, (Gameboys. CD/DVD players, etc), heaters, holiday lights (i.e. Christmas etc.), irons, laptop computers, massagers, metal tools (drills, screwdrivers, small saws, sanders, etc.), mice/keyboards, microwaves, mixers, monitors (LCD & CRT), MP3 Players/iPods, networking equipment, printers, radios, remote controls, satellite dishes, scanners (all types), shaving equipment, speakers, stereos, telephones, televisions, toaster ovens, toothbrushes (electric), typewriters, UPS batteries, vacuum cleaners (without bags), VCRs, VHS tapes, video cameras, video game consoles.

The following items will not be accepted: curling irons, hazardous waste materials, household batteries, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, humidifiers, air conditioners.
