The Patriot Act‘s purpose is to deter and punish terrorists acts in the United States as well as around the world. It seeks to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools.




The Family Educations Rights and Privacy Act is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.




The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act is a credit privacy act that amended the existing Fair Credit Reporting Act providing consumers, companies, consumer reporting agencies and regulators with new tools to expand consumer access to credit, enhance the accuracy of consumer financial information, and help fight identity theft.
