In 2012 we earned our e-Stewards certification. This standard allows us to hold ourselves, and our fellow partners, at the highest esteem. This certification shows that our company excels in preventing the toxic materials in electronics from continuing to cause long-term harm to human health and the environment, particularly in countries with developing economies.
In 2010 we earned our R2 certification by Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc. R2 recyclers adhere to stringent environmental, health, safety and security requirements. We ensure that toxic material streams are managed safely, responsibly, and legally by downstream vendors – all the way to final disposal.
In 2011 we earned our ISO 14001 certification. The international organization for standardization (ISO) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. The ISO 14001 certification requires the creation of an environmental management system (EMS). We strive to continually improve in order to decrease our impact on the environment.
ISRI is the private non-profit trade association that is the “Voice of the Recycling Industry.” As a member of ISRI, we attend conferences in order to better our industry and fellow brokers, processors, de-manufacturers, remanufacturers, and other consumers of scrap commodities.
Vintage Tech Recyclers has earned its membership with the Coalition for American Electronics Recycling. This organization formed to support responsible electronics recycling with the mission of creating jobs, protecting America’s security interests, and to enhance environmental sustainability. As a part of this coalition, Vintage Tech makes sure that all electronics recycling is performed securely and sustainably.
IRA is a private not-for-profit organization that encourages the responsible use of resources by promoting waste reduction, reuse, and recycling in the state. We support IRA’s efforts to increase recycling throughout Illinois.
Vintage Tech is a Better Business Bureau accredited company and received the BBB Torch Award for business ethics in the marketplace for 2012. Currently, Vintage Tech is working with the Better Business Bureau on data-security based events and educating the public on the importance protecting against identity theft.
