Are you an inconsistent recycler?

young child recyclingAccording to an article posted on Ars Technica, there has been a study published in the Journal of Consumer Research after two researchers aimed to gain an understanding of why people still aren’t recycling everything they can.

This study explicates that as humans, we have an inclination to label things. If something is recyclable and looks useful, we will normally recycle it. However, if something is recyclable but looks like trash, we will throw it away. For example, many people will pitch an aluminum can if it has been dented. Many people will also throw out scraps of paper while recycling paper that is of normal size. Very interesting! Do you find that you do this as well?
